Villa Gabriella Organic is proud to offer our IGP certified organic, Tuscan extra virgin olive! From the rolling hills of Montespertoli, estate grown, organic Tuscan Frantoio, Leccino & Moraiolo olives were hand harvested at their prime in Dec. 2015, immediately pressed & then bottled in Tuscany.

Each & every bottle of Villa Gabriella Organic Tuscan Extra Virgin IGP oil is identifiable by the label around the neck of the bottle. The alphanumeric code allows consumers to trace the entire supply chain, providing maximum transparency & security. The seal guarantees the surest & safest way of buying an original & authentic extra virgin olive oil, rich in aromas, fragrance & flavors that distinguish it as a true Tuscan.

Aromas of fresh cut grass & green tomato offer fruity along with slightly bitter & spicy notes. Flavors of green apples, artichokes & fennel are bold yet balanced. Savor, don’t save this oil! The European Union established IPG-Indicazione Geografica Protetta or Protected Geographical Indication certification status to ensure products genuinely originating from a specified certified region are allowed to be identified as such. IGP certified oil undergoes both chemical & sensory tests conducted by Department of Agriculture approved commissions to verify compliance in growing, harvesting, pressing & bottling regulations. The result is 100% olive oil from Tuscany.

Since 1997, the Consortium for the protection of Tuscan extra virgin olive oil continues to diligently work to protect & promote IGP certified Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Italy & throughout the world.

According to the Consortium, production of Tuscan IGP has a set of requirements covering all the stages of production, from the cultivation of oil to the packaging. Some of the requirements of real Tuscan IGP oil;

Groves
Members enroll their olive groves on a list kept by the Consortium: all the plants registered, belonging to the different varieties as stipulated by production regulations. The olive fruit must be mandatorily grown & cultivated in the administrative territory of the Tuscany region.

Pressing
The operations of pressing the olives are communicated daily by the mills to the authorized offices in the Tuscan territory allowing daily inspection & supervision. Even at this stage of the production chain, as with the olive harvest, it is mandatory within the Tuscany region.

Packaging
Olive oil that has passed the vetting traceability process, chemical & organoleptic (oil tasting ) inspections as determined by the production regulations, may then use the name & be packaged as IGP. It is also mandatory that the packaging step take place within the Tuscany region.
