Villa Gabriella Organic is proud to offer our IGP certified organic, extra virgin olive oil! This Tuscan classic hails from the certified organic olive grove of Montespertoli, 15 miles west Florence. Single estate, at an altitude of 1,246 feet, the grove of olive trees some more than 100 years old, thrives under sustainable farming methods & daily care. Exceptional in taste & quality, artisan crafted from organic Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo & Pendolino olives, limited to just 500 bottles for the U.S.
- IGP oil is identifiable by the label around the neck of the bottle. The alphanumeric code allows consumers to trace the entire supply chain, providing maximum transparency & security. The seal guarantees the surest & safest way of buying an original & authentic extra virgin olive oil, rich in aromas, fragrance & flavors that distinguish it as a true Tuscan.
- Estate grown, organic Tuscan Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo & Pendolino olives were hand harvested at their prime in autumn 2016.

Why IGP? The European Union established IPG-Indicazione Geografica Protetta or Protected Geographical Indication certification status to ensure products genuinely originating from a specified certified region as authorized to be identified as such. Since 1997, the Consortium for The Protection of Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil diligently works to protect IGP certified Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil throughout the world.
What is the Certification Process? Chemical & sensory tests are conducted by Department of Agriculture approved commissions to verify compliance with growing, harvesting, pressing & bottling regulations ensuring the oil is 100% extra virgin, olive oil from Tuscany. Per the Consortium, production of Tuscan IGP extra virgin olive oil has specific requirements for each stage, from cultivation to packaging. For example;
Groves: Producers must register their olive groves with the Consortium. Each tree is registered & belongs to the different varietals as stipulated by production regulations. The olive fruit must be mandatorily grown & cultivated in the administrative territory within the Tuscany region.
Pressing: As with the olive harvest, this stage of the production chain must be carried out in Tuscany. Authorized mills must report the daily pressing schedule to regulatory offices in the Tuscan region for audits & inspection.
